We honor the memory and service of our longtime friend and colleague, George R. Hall. George passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 26, 2021. While born in Red Springs, NC, George and his wife Margaret made Augusta their home for the past 36 years.

George had an active trial practice with a concentration in personal injury defense and commercial matters. He tried more than 120 cases in his career. In particular, George represented clients and has tried cases in a variety of areas encompassing all types of tort claims, product liability claims, FELA claims, truth-in lending claims, professional malpractice claims, civil rights, lender liability, banking issues and lease and contract disputes. He also served as a mediator and arbitrator in over 300 cases since 1997. This experience enabled him to provide practical, effective, and efficient legal services to his clients

George was an incredible example of service not only in his career, but also in his community. He was an active member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon, a Stephen Minister, and an Elder- including tenures as Clerk of Session and Moderator of various committees. He also served several years on the board of the Augusta Sports Counsel, was recognized as a Paul C. Harris Fellow of Rotary International, and as a board member of the Augusta Rotary Hull Fund. George embodied the words of theologian and humanitarian Albert Schweitzer who said, “The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.”

He is survived by his beloved family including his wife Margaret Carr Hall, his sons Thomas Wade Hall and David Watkins Hall (Lauren), and his granddaughter Aubrey Hall.

While George will be missed, his contributions and dedication to the law and his clients will not be forgotten.
